Yesterday, seniors Makayla McNally and Hunter Staton were celebrated at the John Ourth recognition breakfast at Streator High School with other students from surrounding schools. Tomorrow, Tuesday February 20th we will be holding a pep rally to support both the Lady Huskers and the Huskers at 2:15 in the high school gym. The Lady Huskers continue their playoff run this week with sectional action while the Huskers begin regionals this week. Families of the players and members of the community are welcome to attend. Please enter through the cafeteria doors. Parking will not be available near the main entrance due to bus pick up required at the end of the day. Go Huskers!

This week is National School Counseling Week! A huge shout out goes to Ms. Hoppis, Serena High School Counselor, who does an amazing job with our students. She works very hard to make sure all our students are successful and to give them the opportunities to explore their interests. Thank you Ms. Hoppis.

Due to icy road conditions, all Serena Unit 2 schools will have an e learning day on Monday, January 22. All extra curricular activities are cancelled. All special education routes and transportation to the Indian Valley Vocational Center are cancelled.
Due to extremely cold temperatures, all Serena CUSD 2 schools (Serena High, Serena Middle, Sheridan Grade, and Harding Grade) will have an e-learning day for Tuesday, January 16. All athletic contests are cancelled. The Indian Valley Vocational Center and special education routes for Serena Unit 2 students are also cancelled.
Both SHS Girls and Boys basketball games Saturday, January 13 have been cancelled due to weather.
Due to the forecast for heavy snow tomorrow and the potential for hazardous road conditions throughout the day, Serena High School and all other Serena CUSD 2 schools will have an e-learning day for Friday, January 12. Students should follow instructions sent to them by their school and teachers. High school students will have materials delivered through Google Classroom and email communication. All extra-curricular activities and practices for Friday, January 12 are cancelled. All special education routes and the Indian Valley Vocational Center are cancelled. A decision regarding Saturday's activities will be made at a later time.
