SMS softball won both games of their double header vs Mendota Holy Cross last night. They pulled off an awesome come from behind victory to finish the first game 7-6. They then won the second game 11-3. Go Huskers!!

This has been a great week for SMS sports so far. Soccer won their games against PAW Paw (6-0) and HBR (3-2). On Tuesday, Baseball defeated Peru Catholic 17-1 and Softball defeated Seneca 13-3. Great Job!! Tonight: Baseball home vs Mazon and Softball has a double header vs Mendota Holy Cross Friday: Soccer away vs Newark Saturday: Baseball is home with a double header vs LaSalle Lincoln (10:00am)

Due to excessive heat in the high school, all Unit 2 Schools (Serena Middle, Harding Grade, Sheridan Grade and Serena High School) will be dismissed at 1:00 (SMS and SHS) and 1:15 (SGS and HGS)on Wednesday, August 23 through Friday August 25. Coaches will be in contact with their athletes regarding practices and games.

Don't forget we have our unpack the backpack from 3 to 6 this coming Monday (8/21). We will also have our 8th grade parent night for softball on 8/29 at 4:00. Serena is hosting Seneca that night. Please come support our 8th graders as they play one of their last home games for Serena Middle School.

Two great wins for Serena against Milton Pope last night. Our softball team won 3-1, and baseball had a final score of 16-0. GO HUSKERS!

The SMS home Softball and Baseball games for tonight (8/14) have been postponed because of the weather. They will both now be played tomorrow (8/15) at 4:30. Go Huskers!!

Soccer tryouts will be next week August 7th and 8th from 4-6. The first practice will be the 11th from 5-7. Tryouts are open to all 6th-8th grade students with a team limit of 22 players. Sports fees do not need to be paid until after tryouts are completed. However, students must have a current physical to participate in the tryouts.
