Good morning!! We are having some difficulty with our NFHS stream this morning. We will use FB live to stream today’s girls basketball game. See you at 1pm!!! Go Huskers!!

FFA Movie night is still on! Doors will open at 5 pm. Use the cafeteria doors. We will have pizza, popcorn, and pop. Bring your own bean bags, lawn chairs, blankets. Please remember all Covid precautions include wearing of face masks and social distancing must be adhered too. Please let us know if you have any questions.

We have some exciting news to share!! Some additional info...the school does receive a portion of the subscription. You only need to pay if you want to watch sports events live, as they are free after 3 days. All non-sport events are free and can be watched live. For example, graduation. Notification from: Serena CUSD #2 (Admin) Dear Parents, Students, and Staff, It appears that we are receiving the bad weather as predicted earlier. The roads are extremely icy and dangerous this evening. I would recommend not traveling this evening, unless absolutely necessary. Several local school districts have already declared full Remote Learning Days for tomorrow and I believe there will be many more joining the list from this point forward tonight. Therefore, we will be implementing our approved E-Learning plan tomorrow declaring tomorrow a full Remote Learning Day, Friday, February 5th. If you have any questions or concerns about learning expectations, I would recommend emailing your building principal or teachers directly. Also, if you are in need of food service tomorrow, please email Debbie Fuchs directly tonight or tomorrow morning to place your order at dfuchs@unit2.net. Pickup time will start at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow morning at the HS cafeteria. Hopefully, the roads will be cleared by then. Notification from: Serena CUSD #2 (Admin) Dear Parents, Students, and Staff, The LaSalle County Sheriff's Department has requested to use our MS and HS building this afternoon as a training ground, Friday, January 29th, from approximately 3:00 to 7:00. We want to help LCSD prepare as best they can for any type of school related emergencies that could occur at any school building, ours or any other local school district building. Therefore, after all of our students and staff have left the building today, they will begin a series of practice drills. Most of the training this afternoon will be relatively quiet, however you may see emergency vehicles around the building and an increase in police presence, flashing lights, sirens, etc. Please do not be alarmed. If you have any questions or concerns about this afternoons training, please feel fee to call the high school or middle school main office. Thank you and have a great day! Notification from: Serena CUSD #2 (Admin) FYI - After receiving a road report this morning, the roads are still very icy and slippery with some drifting and more snow possibly on the way, so we will be calling a SNOW DAY today. Yesterday, we discussed implementing a Remote Learning Day but after having further conversation with my Leadership Team last night and talking with other superintendents in the area, it appears that it would be best, and in alignment with other local school districts, to implement an old fashioned snow day today. We have had some inquiries into e-learning and options moving forward. Here is some information that may help to clear up any confusion. 1. If you have opted for e-learning you will be on the list until the 9 weeks are finished and can re-evaluate at that time 2. If you have opted for in-person learning the same thing applies 3. If you have been exposed to COVID or tested positive, you will be put on temporary remote. You will be asked to remove them once in school, including the halls and classrooms Please fill out the survey Ms. Hoppis sent re: course interests Bring with and return any books/equipment for any class changes that you are no longer taking All course changes MUST be done by the end of day Friday 1/8/21.
